Assistant/Associate/Full Professor
The School of Economics at Universidad del Rosario (Bogota, Colombia) seeks qualified candidates to fill at least one position beginning in the fall 2022. We accept applications in any field of economics, and the primary focus of our search is at the tenure track Assistant Professor level; however, exceptional candidates might also be considered for a tenured position (Associate/Full).
 
We will follow the AEA recommendation and all interviews will take place virtually.

Deadline and Application
All candidates must apply online through JOE. Applications must be received by November 27, 2022 to be guaranteed full consideration. We will conduct online interviews, starting on January 2, 2023.

The School

The School of Economics at Universidad del Rosario is one of the most prestigious in Latin America. We have 29 permanent faculty members and 3 adjunct professors, who have obtained their PhDs from top universities in the US and Europe, such as Berkeley, BU, GWU, NYU, Rochester, Stanford, UCLA, UMD, LSE, NOVA-Lisbon, Tilburg, Toulouse, and UCL.

Our School has one of the most internationally diverse faculties in Latin America, with faculty members from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, Peru, Spain, Turkey and Colombia.

Research and Academic Programs

The research conducted by the faculty has been published in leading journals such as: Review of Economic Studies, Journal of Economic Theory, AEJ: Applied, Review of Economics and Statistics, Economic Journal, Management Science, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of International Economics, Games and Economic Behavior, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Development Economics and Journal of Empirical Finance.

We organize a weekly research seminar and seven thematic workshops: Applied Micro, Experimental and Behavioral, Finance, IO and Competition, Labor, Macro.

Our School offers five graduate programs (PhD. in Economics, Master in Economics, Master in Finance, Master in Quantitative Finance, and Master in Economics of Public Policy), and two undergraduate programs (Economics, and Finance & International Trade).

Working Conditions

Faculty members are entitled to a competitive 12-month salary as well as generous monetary incentives for publications, which are increasing in the journal’s quality. In addition, incoming faculty receive a research stipend. Every faculty member is offered a permanent contract and promotions are awarded on the basis of academic productivity.

On top of the School’s research funds, faculty members are entitled to apply to University-wide research grants on a yearly basis.

Incoming faculty are expected to teach two courses during the first 3 semesters, and 3 courses per year thereafter. Starting on their second year, faculty members are expected to engage in some reduced administrative duties. International faculty are not required to teach in Spanish.
