WHAT IS COIL AND HOW IS IT INCORPORATED IN CLASSES?

Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is a collaborative learning experience that transforms the classroom into a learning space with different parts of the world and different parts of the country. This collaboration is done by professors at each institution who are interested in bringing students together in working spaces and active participation spaces.

Students have the lead role working with fellow students from other national and international institutions and exchanging learning experiences. COIL uses synchronous and asynchronous activities and its tasks are flexible meaning they can take from three sessions up to one whole semester.
