NORSTIP scholarships 2025 - University of South-Eastern Norway (USN)
The Norwegian scholarship scheme for students from selected partner countries (including Colombia) aims to foster economic development and welfare in partner countries. By facilitating student mobility to Norwegian universities and colleges, NORSTIP seeks to educate future leaders who will make a positive impact in their home countries.
NORSTIP scholarship students will be exempted from paying tuition fees and will receive a moderate scholarship equivalent to the scholarship that Norwegian students can get every month from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund’s rates.
University of South Eastern Norway is offering Universidad del Rosario’s academic community three (3) scholarships to complete their Master of Sustainability Management.

What the scholarship includes:
• Visa fees (NOK 5 400)
• Order roundtrip plane tickets (max. NOK 30 000 according to budget for the full project period/duration of master’s programme)
• Arrange for living costs - NOK 159 000 per year (each academic year consists of 11 months)
• Assist in arranging accommodation
• Ensure monthly payments by cash card. After six months, students are expected to be able to open a Norwegian bank account – so money transfers after semester 1 will be forwarded from USN to the student’s private Norwegian bank account.

Terms and Conditions:
- Applicants must be part of Universidad del Rosario’s academic community (students, faculty members, administrative staff or alumni).
- It is expected that the student will return to their home country after completing their education.
Requirements:
To be eligible for the NORSTIP scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Scholarship recipients must be between 20-30 years old, citizens of and residing in a partner country, and must not have a previous master’s degree.
- Individuals employed by the partner institution who can enter into an agreement to return to their employer after the agreed master’s degree are prioritized.
- Female scholarship recipients are prioritized.
- The applicant must document all admission requirements for the relevant master’s program, including English test requirements: English requirements for programmes taught in English - Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge.
Favorability Criteria (but not exclusionary):
- Not having had previous international experience.
- Belonging to a minority group (attach certificate if applicable).
- Updated resume in Spanish (max. 1 page).
- Motivation letter in Spanish detailing the following information (max. 2 pages):
- Impact of the experience on your academic/professional trajectory
- Contribution to the institution and the country after your return
- Impact of the experience on your personal journey
- Official transcript indicating cumulative GPA, minimum 4.0. This can be obtained through SIAR, with an approximate cost of $17,000. The official transcript must be translated into English by a certified translator.
- Language certification (min B2) - Approved certifications can be found here: English requirements for programmes taught in English - Universitetet i Sørøst-Norge
- Copy of passport.
How to Apply:
To apply, the above-mentioned documents must be sent to cooperacion@urosario.edu.co with the subject “Application NORSTIP-USN nombres y apellidos” no later than Tuesday, December 10th, 2024. Each document must be in PDF format.
Keep in mind the following:
- Where will you be doing your Master’s program? Bo, Norway
- If selected, when can you start? From August 1st, 2025, or later
- What’s the duration of the Master’s program? Two years
- Deadline for applications: December 10th, 2024
Important:
- The student must cover expenses not mentioned above, such as the international travel insurance that he/she must have and expenses related to the visa process.
- University of South Eastern Norway will be responsible for disbursing the stipend, so the student must have resources for the first few weeks of his/her stay in the country.
