Past events
Dance session: Champeta and reggaeton La Gozadera - The Urban Beats
On Friday, April 16, we connected to dance reggaeton and champeta, with people from Peru, Mexico and Italy. We practiced the best steps of these two styles of dance, through a choreography with different variants.
Dance session: Salsa - bachata Al son del tumba’o: a journey through the rhythms of Latin culture
On May 13, 2021, we learned to dance like a true Colombian. We connect with people from Ecuador, France, Italy and Peru in a recreational space to share knowledge about Latin rhythms such as salsa and bachata, rhythms that represent Latin culture.
Cooking session 1. Eating to think: Colombia syncretism of knowledge and flavors
We connected with people from Peru, Mexico, Ecuador, France, Italy, Holland and Brazil, where, from three simple preparations, we learned part of the nation-building processes, as well as their traditional knowledge and flavors:
- Pork cannon in coffee sauce.
- Creole potato and cheese lapingachos.
- Fresh cheese curd dessert and citrus molasses.
Cooking session 2. Eating to think: food from the Colombian Pacific
We connect with people from France, Mexico, Peru, Germany and Chile and prepare two dishes from the Colombian Pacific:
- Banana bullets
- Atollado rice
Let's talk Colombian!
On June 9, 2021, we lived a conversational Spanish club that had the participation of people from Peru, Mexico, Croatia and Indonesia. In this session we learned about the peculiarities of Colombian Spanish and the expressions necessary when we travel to a Spanish-speaking country in general.
Latin America, feel to create. The fruit of the earth: Colombia and the way of the serpent
On February 11 we lived this event directed by Professor Daniela Mendoza from the Dean of the University Environment.
In the activity we have the participation of national rosaristas, people from Cartagena and internationals from France, Germany, Peru, Croatia, Brazil, Ecuador and Mexico. In this session we understood the reason for the explosion of life in our Colombian geography: deserts and perpetual snows, two oceans, jungles, moors, rivers and lagoons, all of them crossed and fed by the waters of the Magdalena River.
