About
The Rosario Experimental and Behavioral Economics Lab (REBEL) and the Economics Department at Universidad del Rosario, with the support of IFREE, will host a new edition of the Bogotá Experimental Economics Conference during August 18th and 19th, 2022. This conference aims to strengthen the ties within the Latin American Experimental Economics community and the rest of the world.
2022 marks a landmark year for Experimental Economics: It commemorates the 20th anniversary of the Nobel Prize co-awarded to Vernon Smith “for having established laboratory experiments as a tool in empirical economic analysis, especially in the study of alternative market mechanisms”. It also marks the 60th anniversary of the publication of Vernon Smith´s seminal JPE article (Smith 1962), and 25 years of Economic Science Association (ESA) becoming a fully international association. In addition, this will mark the 10th edition of this Experimental Economics Conference in Latin American (including the five initial editions in Antigua Guatemala, and the editions since its move to its new home in Bogotá).
This year, BEEC is accompanied by two additional events, turning Bogotá into a hot spot of Experimental Economics for a week.
We are hosting the Symposium of Economic Experiments in Developing Countries (SEEDEC) on August 12th and 13th, 2022. We encourage participants of BEEC to also apply and attend SEEDEC. You can find more information here. If you intend to present your work in both conferences, we encourage you to submit different papers.
We are hosting a one-day workshop on eye-tracking techniques and eye-tracking data analysis and mentoring sessions for young scholars on August 17th.
¡We are eager to host this in-person edition and look forward to seeing you!
