DE ESTUDIOS
The Doctoral Program is part of the Graduate School of Economics. Since it is closely tied to the Master's Degree in Economics, which is a research master's degree lasting three semesters including the thesis, a PhD student, after completing and passing the formal courses (curriculum shared with the Master’s program), can obtain the Master's degree in Economics and continue with the doctoral program.
The students of Master’s Degree in Economics who are interested in pursuing a PhD Program may apply for admission, which is evaluated by the Graduate School Committee using criteria and guidelines established in the norms, as well as in the general regulations for doctoral programs at the university.
In case of admission, the student obtains the credits corresponding to the Master's Degree program. Notwithstanding the foregoing, graduates of the Master's programs admitted to the PhD program must pass the essential subjects of the PhD Program in the event they did not take a required elective while the student was in their Master's program.
**PhD students must choose a course from each subject group of Topics in Microeconomics, Topics in Macroeconomics, and Topics in Econometrics.
In addition, during the PhD Program, the “Rosarista course” which is a non-credit humanistic subject must be taken as a requirement for graduation.
*Note: The faculty reserves the right to modify the curriculum. Please find the catalog of our courses here.
