One effect of stroke is dysphagia or difficulty eating, which is part of the act of feeding and should be recognized as a determinant of quality of life. Dysphagia may resolve spontaneously, but some require artificial nutrition, hence the need for evolution and prognostic indicators of recovery. The Research Group in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Rosario studied the prognostic factors in dysphagia reported in the literature and found there is no consensus on the prognosis in dysphagia and there is little attention to external variables such as quality and access to health services, impacting both prognosis and quality of life of patients.
