“We educate global leaders capable of innovating, devising, and implementing strategies that generate sustainable value for organizations and their environment.”
In 2025, we will be recognized as an International School of Management that, in harmony with the environment, generates knowledge and contributes to the education of global citizens.
THE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT’S HALLMARK IS STRUCTURED AS FOLLOWS:
Strategy: In order to strengthen the competencies that allow students to manage and lead organizations in a complex environment, different pedagogical strategies have been developed to encourage a closer relationship with the business sector through various projects right from the classroom. This is why we have engaged with over 17 companies in 2020 as a result of the economic revival, and our involvement in business challenges continues to grow, with 46 challenges tackled in collaboration with the business sector in 2020.
Leadership: At the different levels of education, different models based on values and principles are covered, which lead to the pursuit of organizational growth and the well-being of those who make up the companies, under the principles of social responsibility. This is reflected in the distinguished graduates of our programs, who have a track record and reputation that showcases their leadership. During their education, students take part in the School's strategic decisions through the curriculum committee and the academic council. An empowered and active student council carries out various initiatives in favor of the students. From 2018 to 2020, the School of Management has been represented by 4 students on the Collegial Council.
Innovation: BuscWe aim to generate impact and transformation in the structure and operation of businesses. We are pioneers in the UR STEAM model, in which the innovation center supports research processes through various projects and initiatives, such as: 1) the development of a quantitative instrument for measuring innovation management in manufacturing companies in Colombia. 2) A Social Laboratory based on innovation, experimental technologies, and the social appropriation of knowledge to promote the formalization and social and productive inclusion of different economic agents. 3) A review of peace-building activities of Colombian companies between 2000-2020: Progress and future challenges.
Entrepreneurship: We foster the ability to turn challenges and problems into opportunities through strategies that generate value and transform the environment. More than 380 students from our School have received support from the Entrepreneurship Center and 180 students have participated in entrepreneurship activities and competitions. This has led to the development of more than 160 businesses created by students from the School of Management. 30% of graduates from our programs have pursued entrepreneurship projects.
